Best jja jja myun in Ktown now that the Dragon has been retired. I've been coming to YK since I was in elementary school. Same staff, same owner, same interior. It looks kind of dated inside but the food speaks for itself. It almost looks like a mafia front but damn they got a damn good cover then.

This place has been around since the 70's, which means it's stood the test of time. Jajangmyeon, Fried dumplings, jjamppong, fried chicken with hot garlic sauce, Mongolian beef, and sweet and sour pork are delicious. Workers are friendly and all know a minimal of 3 languages. The place needs a remodeling to stay with the time or is it just nostalgic to keep everything old school... Idk

I was told to come here for the tangsuyuk and it didn't disappoint! The portion size was huge and I appreciate that there were sizable chunks of pork, with a crispy batter. Sometimes the batter can be too thick, but here it was just right. We took almost half back as leftovers and a quick run in the air fryer made them good as new. On the other hand, the other dishes were not as impressive. Their regular jjajangmyeon was what you would expect, but the seafood jjamppong was disappointing. Despite the color of the broth and the amount of seafood, it lacked depth of flavor. FYI they don't offer yellow daikon as a side, which imo is a great complement to the jjajangmyeon.

The service is excellent and the food is delicious! We came on a Friday for dinner. We we seated immediately and the waitress was very friendly. As soon as we sat down they brought us water and tea. We ordered and the first dish was out I kid you not in 5 min maybe even faster. I was even done serving the kids when the other 3 plates of food were arriving. The service here is phenomenal! The food is amazing! The place was not crowded at all and they even have a valet parking which ran us $3 not expensive at all especially for parking spot in the heart of Korea town. I will gladly pay $3 any day to get a for sure parking spot. It is definitely outdated inside but don't mind the furniture the food and service is why you go.

Food Service 5/5 Atmosphere 4/5 I love coming here to get a black bean noodlee and sweet fried pork. sweet and sour pork melts smoothly. It was crispy, juicy, and chewy. We went on saturday afternoon, it was not too busy. One of the few original mom/pop restaurants left in Koreatown. I took my seattle friend here. He loved it. One of the best chinese restaurant in k-town.

I was craving Korean-Chinese food as per usual and Young King was super close so had to stop by to try out this spot. The interior feels a little dated but there's a sense of nostalgia and comfort to it so it felt right. We arrived around 7:30 PM on a Saturday and were seated super quickly. Our waitress was kind and attentive. Made sure to keep our kimchi plate filled, too. We ordered and got our food super quickly! The jajangmyeon was really tasty and it was a generous portion. I think I've had better jajangmyeon elsewhere but still hit the spot. The star of the meal was definitely the sweet and sour pork (get the sauce on the side to keep the pork crispy). It was fried to perfection and the sauce was the perfect balance with lots of tasty pickled veggies in it. Overall, a lovely dining experience and I'll come back for the pork!

** UPDATED HOURS AS OF APRIL 2024 ** CLOSES AT 9PM, NOT 9:30 PM. In a nutshell: It's a hidden gem! The servers here are quick and both dishes that I got were great quality AND quantity. I will definitely be coming back here and this might be my new go-to korean-chinese restaurant. Tangsuyuk (9/10): You obviously gotta get this dish any time you go to a chinese-korean restaurant. The pork was tender, crispy and chewy - comes with a gIGaNTIC bowl of sweet/sour sauce. Mongolian Beef (10/10): Imagine thin slices of beef, perfectly seared until they're caramelized and juicy. I feel like people don't usually order this dish - but I would HIGHLY recommend this one or else you'd be missing out!! Service: They are nice and quick. Came at 8:45 since yelp says it closes at 9:30PM, but they still let us in. Brought a teapot which was really nice especially since it was cold outside.

Great authentic korean-Chinese food in ktown. You know it's good when all you can hear is korean language!! The jjajangmyeon and tangsuyuk Fried Pork were bomb. Two korean-Chinese classics definitely worth trying especially if you have never had this unique cuisine before. The service was great too, can never complain about the efficiency.
